1. Installation

Installing wordpress

If your hosting provides built in software like Installatron or scriptaculous, you will have only need to login into your cPanel and select the WordPress software from the Installatron (or Scriptaculous) software list.

scriptaculous

If you need to install wordpress manually, there is an official WordPress guide to guide you through the process.

Go to the WordPress manual installation guide

Installing the theme

You can install your new theme in the following ways:

  1. From the admin dashboard, using the WordPress theme installer (easiest method).
  2. or manually via FTP

Please make sure that you start from a fresh WordPress installation, without any content or plugin(s). Once the theme is installed, you can import your content from other sources.

IMPORTANT NOTE BEFORE INSTALLING THE THEME:

This theme provides a child theme, making it easier to update your site with new theme versions without losing any customizations or settings. The following instructions will teach you how to correctly install and activate the theme using the child theme, which will make your life much easier down the line:

Automatic theme installation from the WordPress Admin

  1. Login to your WordPress admin panel this will usually be your wordpress site/domain name followed by   /wp-admin
  2. Go to Appearance > Themes
  3. Click Install Themes and then Upload
  4. Click on the “Browse” button and select the zipped folder of the theme from your computer.
  5. Upload the theme called vice.zip but DO NOT ACTIVATE IT
  6. Once done click on “Return to themes”
  7. Also upload the theme vice-child.zip, and ACTIVATE vice-child.zip
  8. Make sure you upload the theme zip file and not the product zip file.
  9. An alert at the top of the page will ask you to install the plugins required to use all the functions of the theme. Select them all and select “install”.
  10. Wait until the process has finished.
  11. Once this is done, you can install the demo website in one click, just click on the ‘One Click Installer’ under the Appearance menu.
  12. During the One Click setup process, you may have to wait for several minutes for the process to finish. Do not re-load or close the page.
  13. You will see a message notifying you when the installer has completed it’s tasks.

NOTE: If you are installing the theme with the automatic installer and you get an error message “Are You Sure You Want To Do This?” this means that your server configuration doesn’t allow the upload of the file due to its size. We can work around this by uploading the theme via FTP.
In alternative, try the following solution:

MEMORY LIMIT FIX:

If you get problems related to memory whilst importing the demo content, edit your wp-config.php in the root of your WordPress website, by adding these lines of code:

define( 'WP_MAX_MEMORY_LIMIT', '256M' );

If you still have trouble, please refer to the official guide here: http://codex.wordpress.org/Common_WordPress_Errors#Maximum_execution_time_exceeded

Manual theme installation (FTP installation)

  1. Download the zipped theme folder and extract it on your local PC.
  2. Make sure you unzip the correct theme folders (vice.zip and vice-child.zip), the one that contains the style.css and index.php files. Make sure that you are not uploading the “product” folder. If the folder that you are going to upload contains some zipped files, it is not the correct one.
  3. Connect to your hosting provider using an FTP client (e.g. Filezilla is one of the best free FTP clients, you can get it here)
  4. Navigate to your WordPress installation folder (usually is not the root folder but it should be public_html, www or something else, depending on your hosting provider settings). To be sure that you are in the WordPress folder, you should see the following three folders inside:
    – wp-content
    – wp-admin
    – wp-includes
  5. Navigate to wp-content/themes
  6. Upload the two theme folders you already unzipped (see step 2. above): vice and vice-child to the wp-content folder.
  7. On your browser navigate to the admin dashboard of your wordpress site (usually yoursite.com/wp-admin)
  8. Go to Appearance-> themes and activate: Vice Child

Installing the required plugins:

  • An alert at the top of the page will ask you to install the plugins required to use all the functions of the theme. Select them all and select “install”.
  • Wait until the process has finished.
  • Once this is done, you can install the demo website with one click, simply click on the ‘One Click Installer’ by going to: (Appearance->Installer Panel)
  • To proceed, return to the dashboard, and check the following shown below:

Screen Shot 2015-10-13 at 17.22.43

The Installer Panel

You can install default content using the installer panel. Make sure that the ‘WordPress Importer’ is not active in your plugins list!

In some cases the process can take up to 20 minutes. If you have any server errors check that your max_execution_time in your PHP configuration file is at least 1200.

  1. Return to the dashboard
  2. Click Appearance -> Installer panel
  3. During the One Click setup process, please be patient as it may take several minutes for the process to finish. Do not reload or close the page as this will cause problems.
  4. You will see a notification message when the installation has completed.

1.2 Customization

How to customize the colours, logo and sidebars

  • Temporarily disable the QT Preloader first (as the customizer prevents the onload event)
  • Go to appearance -> Customize | and you will get the following:

Social links: add the URL of your social media accounts, this generates an icon with a link in the off-canvas menu. You may need to click save to see the icons in the sidebars. The sidebar is accessible clicking the menu button in the top left hand corner.

Branding: upload a logo for the top bar and a bigger one for the off-canvas sidebar

Footer: the footer text displayed in the sidebar

Ajax page load: enable this to have the player working across pages. Disable this if your plugins don’t work correctly.

Music player: if it is invisible/hidden tracks will be playable but the user will have no controls. Autoplay on/off. Youtube video takes over the audio even if autoplay is on. Manual playing of any tracks will automatically mute the video.

Google fonts: enable and choose a colour for the titles and the content

Colours: choose a dark palette if you like dark backgrounds and white text. Then you can specify a main colour and a background.

Important: this theme is responsive and is based on Bootstrap 3. The breakpoints are set to 750, 1200 and 1400 in order to fit with modern screen sizes. When you open the customizer on small screens the website can go into “mobile mode” if the preview width is less than 750 px.

1.3 Adding links to the Top Menu

Are you new to WordPress? Below shows you “how to create a menu” in WordPress 3.6.

Please pay attention to this chapter as this is not intuitive if you are not a WordPress expert.

For your convenience, this theme automatically creates a menu when you activate it.
The menu name is “Top Menu”, and you can find it under the “Appearances > Menu” page of your WordPress admin.
In the menu, there are by default 2 items: a “Home” link and a “Qantum Themes” link, set as a demonstration.
We suggest that you delete the “Qantum themes link” and leave the “home” one. To do so, click the arrow near the “Qantum themes” menu item in the Menus page, and click “remove”, then click save. Please refer to the video above to see this being done.

How to add Releases, Artists and Podcasts links to the top menu (creating links to the custom post types archives)

To do so, you need to have created at least one post of the desired post type. For example, to add a “Releases” link to the menu, you need to have at least one Release created prior to adding the link.

How do I obtain the post type link? The link is not fixed, because it depends on your permalinks structure.
The easiest way to get your “custom post type archive” link is the following (the example is made using releases, but it is the same for other post types):

  1. In the wp-admin, go to “Release > All Release”
  2. Choose a random release, and click “view”
  3. In the breadcrumb, you will have “Home > Release > Some name”, click “Release”
  4. Copy the URL
  5. Return to the “Appearance > Menus” in your wp-admin panel
  6. Under the “Custom Links” panel, paste in your URL
  7. In the “Label” field, write “Release” (or what you want)
  8. Click “Add to Menu”
  9. Click Save Menu
  10. Check the results on your front page

Please watch the great video below if you have any trouble doing this.
Important: If you are running an older WordPress installation, and you are experiencing some “404 Errors” whilst visiting your “release” archive or any other custom type archive, follow these steps please:

  1. In the wp-admin, go to “Settings > Permalinks”
  2. Copy the custom permalink structure if you had one
  3. Select the basic permalink structure (the one with the “?p=”)
  4. Click Save
  5. Visit your website and visit the custom type archive
  6. Go back to the permalink page
  7. Paste in your custom permalinks structure
  8. Click Save
  9. Try again, everything should work now

Why do I have to do this? Unfortunately this is an issue that occurs with old WordPress installations (before 3.5). If the problem is persists, clear your browser cache and try again. If you have any plugins like “Super cache” or “Total cache”, deactivate them before clearing and reactivate them once resolved.

1.4 Support

For any issues that cannot be solved in this manual please use the QantumThemes HelpDesk

http://qantumthemes.com/helpdesk

NOTE: We have a dedicated Helpdesk that is monitored. No support is given to comments on product pages.

Any support request that is not logged via our Helpdesk won’t be solved.

IMPORTANT:

  • We do not provide an installation service, as some other WordPress themes do out there, it is treated as a separate service if you cannot install your theme following the instructions.
  • We do not provide a demo import service. You can use the One Click demo install function for this.
  • Support is given only via the forum and under exceptional circumstances we may help you by email
  • All support requests that can be answered by following steps listed in any of our manuals will not be answered
  • We have a queue of requests, if your request is not answered within few hours (usually between 8-24), please do NOT send more emails. We answer all the requests that we receive, please be patient and wait.
  • Do NOT post support requests on the Themeforest comments of the theme. These will be simply ignored. The comments section is for exactly comments it is not designed as a support desk, it is impossible to offer professional support there.
  • IMPORTANT: If you have an issue that needs tech support to log into your site, please send us an email with your website, WordPress access, purchase code, name of the theme and describe in detail the issue. If you forget information, DO NOT SEND INTEGRATION EMAILS with data divided into multiple emails as mentioned before messages are queued: we receive hundreds of emails every day and we cannot lose hours recreating the history of each customer the more detail we get from the first message the quicker we can help.
  • Be sure that your email request includes all the needed data, separate emails containing pieces of request, like one with your login details and one with the problem description, will be ignored.
  • The request needs to be clear, written in English, and contain all the above information in the same email
  • We don’t provide support for issues with third party plugins
  • We do answer everybody, be patient and wait please. Do not complain in the public forum, support time may vary between 2 and 48 hours.
  • This product is exactly as you see in the demo, or better. If you expect it to do something that it actually doesn’t, that’s not a bug. The manual is public and it describes in detail what you can and cannot do within the theme customization options. Customization requests for details which are not dynamically editable, will be quoted and charged separately.
  • Any request not respecting these rules will be ignored

2. Updating the theme from previous versions

You can download new updates from Themeforest.net/downloads – forever

A full file and database backup is recommended before updating.
No pages or site contents are deleted when updating themes or plugins.
If you used the child theme, just replace the main theme file and leave the child theme intact.

1. Unzip the theme folder on your local computer (for example on the desktop)
2. Backup your old theme version located in wp-content/themes/vice
3. Upload the theme via FTP replacing the old theme folder
4. In your local theme folder, after unzipping, navigate to the subfolder tgm/plugins
5. Unzip all the plugins and upload them to the wp-content/plugins folder, replacing the old ones
6. visit the ADMIN screen and verify if you need to install any missing plugin(s). If you are updating from very old versions
ALTERNATIVELY:
1. Deactivate the plugins provided with the theme, to know which ones they are, you can find them in the “/plugins” subfolder of the theme product folder
2. Delete them in WordPress, or via FTP in wp-contents/plugins.
3. Install them manually from WordPress Admin -> Plugins -> Add New -> Upload
MORE INFORMATION CAN BE FOUND HERE:
http://www.qantumthemes.com/helpdesk/2015/07/24/updating-slam-or-vice-to-the-child-theme/

NOTE: Since version 1.3.0 the QT Ajax Revslider plugin is not needed as it has been embedded in the theme core.

3. Creating your content

This theme comes with 8 specific post types:

  • Modules (you can preview them, but they work correctly only when used as modules on a modular page)
  • Artists (Artists are automatically linked with releases. (Hence the customisable tab layout)
  • Podcasts (for recordings, live sets and more. Compatible with soundcloud, mixcloud and mp3 audio)
  • Releases (that are music albums or EP’s. Can contain unlimited tracks. They have their own “music genre” taxonomy)
  • Events (useful for gigs, parties, concerts. Composes the modular page events map layout.)
  • Galleries (with their own template. Tile galleries are managed by jquery. Normal WP galleries are still available)
  • Simple Sliders (Sliders with fullscreen background and content. Can only be used on modular pages)
  • Radio Channels (Add your own radio channel, with the music playable in the theme’s music player)

Each custom content has specific data. Artists, Podcasts and Releases can be edited after being imported from Beatport or Mixcloud.

3.1 Creating a new Release

For the purpose of this theme a “Release” is not a track, but a COLLECTION of tracks, like an EP, an LP or a compilation. You can also create a single track release.
In this theme there is no possibility of creating a track “by itself” because actual releases are globally the way to organize the modern music market.

You can create a release in 2 ways: manually or importing it from Beatport.
Please note that the standard way to import a release is by creating it manually. The Beatport Import system is experimental, and is not a full feature of the theme. No warranties are provided about the Beatport API functionality.

How to create a Release manually:

  1. Login to your WordPress wp-admin
  2. Click “Release > Add New”
  3. Fill in the title and description
  4. Insert the basic information for each track. You can add infinite tracks by clicking the “Add Another” button.
  5. For each track, compile the Authors field. Note that authors will be automatically linked to the Artists pages that has the same title as a track’s author. Carefully check for any typo’s that will create a mismatch, if the author is correctly spelt, the theme won’t be able to sync to your intended author. This author name is also needed to create the author’s page, the list of the releases where he/she have their tracks listed.
  6. For each track you can upload an MP3. Optionally, you can fill the field with an direct mp3 URL.
For releases created by Beatport importer, only the release artwork will be downloaded into your server. The mp3’s are only linked by the public mp3 preview url using the Beatport API public service. Qantumthemes or Envato are not responsable for the Beatport Api service, that is included only for your convenience and it is not considered part of the basic theme features. Consider it only a “bonus” because the service is a “beta” version.
  7. IMPORTANT NOTICE: on the web, it’s impossible to prevent something to be stolen, because there is always the way to reach a content if it is published. To prevent your tracks to be stolen, never upload full quality 100% long tracks.
  8. You can upload an edited preview at 128 k (or 96 k) or you can upload watermarked audio previews (like audiojungle does).
  9. Uplaod a featured image (squared and measuring at least 400 px width for a good result).
  10. Save, publish and verify your release. Any track can be played clicking the play button.
  11. Any track is automatically added to the playlist of the player.

3.1.1 Importing releases from Beatport

This function requires that you have CURL and OAUTH enabled on your server, to allow the communication between your server and the API host (https://oauth-api.beatport.com/)

You must follow the Beatport API activation steps here: https://oauth-api.beatport.com/
In order to obtain the API key from Beatport:

  1. Put on your site a good quality Beatport logo linked to Beatport, like in a widget, and avoid linking to other music stores
  2. Write to Beatport and tell them that you need API access in order to display the catalog of your label on your website
  3. Wait up to 72 hours (24 on average is long enough)

 Importing the releases:

  1. Create your activation key here: http://qantumthemes.com/activation/
  2. Enter the purchase code and the activation key on the Qantum Panel, under the Key tab
  3. Visit Tools -> QT Beat importer
  4. In the “Settings” panel insert the API key and Secret that you received via email from Beatport
  5. In the QT Import plugin go to the Import tab and paste the URL to import (artist, release or label URL)
  6. Choose which releases to import or import them all
  7. If the clock on your server is wrong, the function may not work properly. In this case, ask your hosting provider for assistance
  8. Beatport processes a lot of data every single day. Therefore if you get an no answer from the software, wait a couple of hours and try again. Sometimes the server is very busy and returns nothing. Just WAIT and retry later!!
  9. If the service is discontinued, we are not responsible. This plugin was born to help big labels and DJs to create their website easily and fast thanks to this new Beatport function, but is not a part of the theme, which works perfectly without this. We cannot guarantee for how long this service will go on. It’s just a free plugin to make your life easier.

Note

IMPORTANT: this function is an EXPERIMENTAL function of the theme, as the Beatport API is in BETA and this is not a commercial standalone function. No guarantees are given if the Beatport service will stop to work without any notice. Any other theme function will always be active unless otherwise stated.

3.2 Creating an Artist page

How to add an artist manually:

  1. Click “Artist” on the left, then click “add new”
  2. Write the exact name in the same way you write it into the tracks of your artist releases.
Why is this is so important? One of the cool features of this theme, is that every artist appearing under the tracks is automatically linked to his/her own page, if it exists.
Plus, on the artist’s page, the code will automatically generate a list of releases for you this is explained below…
  3. If in the release, as artist, you write “John Doe”, and in the artist post type you create an artist named “john Doe” or “Dj John Doe”, it won’t work. An artist name must always be written in exactly the same way for the theme to work perfectly, double check everything.
  4. Use the content section to insert a biography
  5. Compile the custom fields below
  6. All the links will be automatically transformed into “icons” on the frontend, and will appear under the artist picture
  7. Video links support youtube links and will be automatically converted into youtube players
  8. Header image: this is optional. The artist will probably have his/her own featured image
  9. Featured image: upload a good resolution picture, at least 600×600. It does not have to be a square image, but it will be cropped to a squared proportion. It may take a bit of editing before you are happy.
  10. Artist’s genres: not actually used in the front-end, but will be implemented for cool functions in the next theme release.

NOTE: the video refers to the SLAM theme the actual procedure is the same.

To add a menu link to the artists archive add a link to http://www.yourtheme.com/artist/ (with URL rewriting active) or http://www.yourtheme.com/?post_type=artist if you have the default permalink structure. (See How to add links to the top menu for a detailed explanation)

Cusrtomizing tabs

Add a custom tab and set the default opened tab (since version 1.3):

Screen Shot 2015-10-13 at 14.29.50

  • Please use the space under the editor to add custom tabs and change the default opened tab.
  • The custom tab is displayed only if a Custom Tab Title is compiled.
  • You can use shortcodes in the tab content, to add your own cool features.

3.3 Creating Events

  1. Login to wp-admin
  2. Click Events
  3. Click Add New
  4. Enter a title and description
  5. Choose a date using the datepicker
  6. Insert an address and any other details
  7. If you want to show a google map for the event, insert the latitude and longitude in the co-ordinates field. In google maps do a right click on the event and click “what’s here” then copy the co-ordinates from the search box.
  8. Add a website URL for the event
  9. Add a location name, like “Amnesia Ibiza”
  10. Add a contact phone number
  11. Add a Facebook event link
  12. Choose if you want to show an extra comment box using Facebook comments
  13. Add as many links to buy the ticket as you want
  14. Select one or more event types, they are like categories, but for events. You can also create archives for specific event types.
  15. Click “Publish” or “Update”

Adding “events” or “event types” links to your menu:

1. Enable the visibility of events panels shown below:

Events-add-to-menu

  1. Go to Appearance -> Menu
  2. Click “Screen Options”
  3. Check Events and Event type
  4. Add Events to the menu
  5. Click “Save”

Our suggestion is to add a link to a general events archive, then put any event under at least one event type, like “Events”, so that you can link “Events” archive to the menu to list all events.

3.3.1 Creating event maps modules

To create an events map module, create a new module, and choose Events Map.

Important:

Since June 2016 Google Maps requires a valid Google Maps API Key to be used in your website.

The new version of this theme, starting since version 1.5.8 of July 2016, allows you to easily add your API key to the Maps code.
To add your Google Maps API key, you can go in Appearance->Customize->General Settings.

In localhost the check is not performed, and you don’t need an API key for localhost or address 127.0.0.1, but when going online, you’ll need to add your API key to the settings.

  1. To generate your API Key, visit
    https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/javascript/get-api-key
  2. Click “Get a Key”
  3. Click “Create a project”
    Screen Shot 2016-07-21 at 00.27.23
  4. Click “Continue”
  5. On the Credentials page, get a Browser key (and set the API Credentials).
You can use any project name.
As HTTP referrers, you can add your website. The * acts as wildcard.Screen Shot 2016-07-21 at 00.29.17
  6. In some cases you’ll be required to choose a couple more fields, choose javascript / Web Browser credentials as follow:
    Screen Shot 2016-07-21 at 00.31.54
  7. Copy the obtained API Key and add it to to your site settings in Appearance->Customize->General Settings-> API Key.
  8. Sometimes you may need to veryfy your domain, following the Google’s procedure:

Schermata 2015-01-13 alle 19.00.36

3.6 Custom Widgets

The widgets all have the same function: they display the latest content of a specific post type.
If you specified a particular order attribute in the custom post, the widget will show contents listed in that order.
You can specify a title for the widget, a number of items to display and you can choose if you want to show thumbnails or not.

3.7 Simple Sliders

Simple sliders are full screen sliders that work only on a modular page template. You can’t insert a Simple Slider onto normal pages or posts.

Each slide can have a specific background or it can be transparent.

The content can contain every kind of html content. The content is vertically centered.

  1. Click Simple Sliders -> Add New
  2. Set a title
  3. Set in milliseconds from 3000 milliseconds upwards. For example: 5000 = 5 seconds
  4. Click the green plus for every slide that you want to add
  5. Remember, when uploading images, to choose the link of the file (please see “creating gallery” for more information)
  6. Go into Modules and add a new module
  7. Choose the “Simple Slider” module type and insert a title
  8. Select the slider you created in the menu that you want to appear
    Schermata 2015-01-13 alle 19.05.40
  9. Click Save
  10. Go to your Modular page and choose the page where you want to display it, or create a new modular page
  11. Add a module, and choose the simple slider module that you created before
  12. Click Save

3.8 Creating modular pages (One Page)

Important information about modular pages:

  1. You can create unlimited modular pages
  2. You must first create the modules to add them to a modular page
  3. Any content, like galleries, releases, sliders or whatever, must first be defined as MODULE in order to be added to a modular page
  4. Each module, once created, can be used in any modular page
  5. Only modular pages can have youtube video as a background
  6. The video background is disabled on phones for technical and performance reasons: IOS for example doesn’t allow this, mobile users hate to have bandwidth used without permission, and it doesn’t work on 90% of the devices.
  7. Colors, order and style of the modules are defined in the modular page, not on the module itself. Modules can be recycled across different modular pages.
  8. Watch the video to understand the process easily
  9. Run the One Click installer
  10. DO NOT INCLUDE TOO MANY MODULES in a single modular page, as every browser has a cache limit and a heavy page cannot work properly. Don’t use more than 5-8 modules per page to avoid issues. The limit depends on the order of each module and especially on the total number of pictures on the page.
  11. Avoid adding hundreds of items: if you want to add 24 releases for instance in the releases module, and you put 24 in the podcast, 24 in artists and 24 in events, the site will become very slugish and slow
  12. w3 Total cache plugin is suggested to help improve the use of heavy content
  13. Compress any pictures under 150kb

How to create modular pages:

  1. Create the modules: go to Modules -> Add New, select the title and the type of module.
  2. Create a new modular page: go to Pages -> Add new.
Set a title and set the page template as a Modular Page, then click save
  3. To add modules to a modular page, select a module from the dropdown list, set your graphic preferences, and set a Title for the section. A title is needed for the icons menu to function correctly.
  4. Once done, click save.
  5. To add other modules, click the plus button, and click save.
  6. Once saved, you can change icon and background image.
  7. To change the order of the modules, drag them using the icon with 3 lines in the top left hand corner of each module section.
  8. To set the modular page as the homepage, go into the reading settings and set your modular page as home.

Since version 1.3.0 you can also hide a module depending on the device. Simply check/uncheck the options in the module settings, while editing the modular page.
This is a useful option to serve up a more simple and light page for users on mobile devices!

Scrolling behavior:

The modular pages are based on Fullpage.js
On some browsers the scrolling will not be available. You navigate to the different sections by clicking on the icons menu on the left.
If you don’t like this system and you want to have a normal scrolling page, select the “Disable Fullpage” checkbox in the page properties.

Now to your advantage we introduced a button to “reduce” the modules in the editor. It works like a simple “accordion”.
Hiding modules in the editor with the “eye” icon will not hide them in the frontend.

Reordering modules is now super easy!

3.9 Creating Radio Station Channels

Since Vice 1.3.0 you can create unlimited Radio Channels. A radio channel is composed of:

  • A visible radio channel page (with its own custom post type and a custom template in the theme)
  • A featured image (or logo)
  • A playable stream of the radio station

Creating the radio channel:

To simply create a radio channel page, use the title and text editors like you do for a normal page. The created page has a template in the front-end that you can copy to your child theme and customize named: single-radiochannel.php.

Creating the playable channel

A playable channel is an entry in the playlist of the website.

To view the radio channel in the player, you need to do two things:

  1. Compile the Radio Channel Details when you create a new radio channel.
  2. Have your player visible under Appearance->Customize

How to compile the radio player details MP3 Stream URL:

Mp3 Stream URL

This is the address where your radio station streams the audio stream.

To use the built-in players, you need the mp3 URL of your radio stream.
To obtain the mp3 url, it is very simple:
Usually the web radio stations provide a file that will allow you to stream the radio on iTunes, Winamp, Windows Media Player and other players.

How to find your MP3 Stream URL

PLEASE USE THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION TO CHECK IF YOUR RADIO STATION IS COMPATIBLE.
IF YOU ALREADY KNOW YOUR MP3 STREAM URL, YOU CAN SKIP THIS CHAPTER OTHERWISE READ ON…

This service is provided using a file similar to these:

  • http://neon.wavestreamer.com:3540/listen.asx?sid=1
  • http://neon.wavestreamer.com:3540/listen.pls?sid=1

You can obtain the url of the mp3 stream by using one of these files, of course use the URL provided from your radio provider, not the ones in this example:

  1. Get the URL of the player from your radio provider. For Wavestream users, you find this URL in the integration tools:
    integration
  2. Download one of the files for the integration. It is a simple text file, masked as a different file format.
  3. Rename the file to player.txt
  4. Open this file with any text editor, like notepad (PC) or TextEdit (Pac)
  5. You will find something like this:
#EXTM3U
#EXTINF:-1,06 AM Ibiza Underground

http://173.192.105.231:3540/Live

This URL will be your mp3 stream, just add “.mp3″ in the end, like this:

…….yourUrl/Live.mp3
To be sure that your mp3 stream is valid, open it in the browser, with a modern browser it should render as a music player, and reproduce your radio stream:
radio-stream

If the radio stream works correctly, you can integrate it on your site.

Adding the radio station to the playlist

This is the checkbox to add the radio channel to the playlist of the theme player, that appears at the bottom of the page.

Radio streams don’t allow advancing in the player track.

Radio stations can by default only be played in the website player, but you can hide radio stations from displaying and you can add your own player to the content of the radio station text.

Advanced information for developers:

  • To customize the radio aspect in the playlist, the template is part-radiostations.php
  • The actual page for radio stations is single-radiochannel.php
  • Radio stations are added via PHP in the part-radiostations.php while normal tracks are added with an ajax call
  • Radio stations are added to the main playlist in part-playlist.php

Screen Shot 2015-10-13 at 17.31.46

Generate your activation key using the purchase code provided from ThemeForest when you bought the theme:

  1. Get your purchase code from Themeforest.net/downloads
  2. Generate your activation key here: http://www.qantumthemes.com/activation/
  3. Remember that your Envato username is Case Sensitive!
  4. Go to the Qantum Panel from the admin page
  5. Insert the data on the activation page shown above
  6. Enjoy your extra functions!

Note: we are sorry for all the pain caused by this process, but the theme’s piracy is a plague and blocks our progress, stealing the food from our families.
We had to take some counter measures for that, but instead of blocking your installation, we simply added new functions (the Beatport importer) which are extras and are accessible only with theme activation.

In case you run into problems during the activation process, please send all the relevant information in detail please, including your Themeforest username and purchase code to info@qantumthemes.com, along with your website’s admin access.

Thanks!

Sample Page

This is an example page. It’s different from a blog post because it will stay in one place and will show up in your site navigation (on most themes). Most people start with an About page that introduces them to potential site visitors. It might say something like this:

Hi there! I’m a bike messenger by day, aspiring actor by night, and this is my website. I live in Los Angeles, have a great dog named Jack and I like piña coladas. (And gettin’ caught in the rain.)

…or something like this:

The XYZ Doohickey Company was founded in 1971, and has been providing quality doohickeys to the public ever since. Located in Gotham City, XYZ employs over 2,000 people and does all kinds of awesome things for the Gotham community.

As a new WordPress user, you should go to your dashboard to delete this page and create new pages for your content. Have fun!
